The standalone VFO shown above is one constructed by N4YG to drive his old Knight T-50 transmitter. It is offered for builders out there who might be interested in a similar VFO. The board is the standard DDS board. One would not have to include all the features, the T-R switch for example. Other features could be added. The firmware supports the following:

- Dual VFOs
- Operation on 3 Bands, 160, 80 and 40 Meters
- Display of Transmit Frequency (For Old Transmitters Operating at Multiples of the VFO Frequency)
- Relay Operated T-R Switch With Variable Delay
- Variable Tuning Rate for Fine Tuning and Easy QSY
- Powered by a 12.6 VAC Transformer
- Large Liquid Crystal Frequency Display

A complete kit which includes the assembled and tested PC board, an incremental encoder and cables may be purchased for $135. The remainder of the parts are readily available and will no doubt vary depending on the builders preference. The one pictured above has a homemade cabinet for example.
